Training Nationals to Start Church-
“Abraham followed a certain path. Moses followed that same path. And Mohamed also followed that path. But Jesus, he clearly followed a different path.” G** looked at his friend Ibraim* (His real name is not given here for security reasons) and thought of how he might respond to this statement.
G** was on his third trip to this particular unreached village. He was planning on eventually moving to this village but was taking some time to get to know the people first and to build relationships. Ibraim* was one of the first people that he had made friends with, and G** had gotten to share with Ibraim* about Jesus on several occasions, and had also lent him a Proclaimer (audio New Testament) for most of the time that he was in that village. Ibraim* had listened to much of the New Testament by now and was becoming increasingly curious about Jesus.
After a moment's pause G** said, “Ibraim*, you are right in saying that Jesus followed a different path than the others. But let me ask you something. Suppose you were made the commander of a military unit. And suppose that you were sent into battle with your unit. Would you follow those under you into battle, or would you do something different from what they were doing in order to show them a better way that they should follow?”
Ibraim* replied that he would do that latter. So G** said, “In a similar way Jesus
did not have to follow the way that other prophets and men of faith followed. He
was over them all so he made a different path -
